Why Arm Or Ally Restricts Certain Sales In Colorado
print icon

Colorado has enacted a combination of statewide firearm laws and local county restrictions that affect what firearms, magazines, and firearm components may be sold or shipped. In addition to state law, certain counties enforce stricter local rules. Together, these laws and local policies make it necessary for Arm Or Ally to limit or prohibit sales of specific products to Colorado and certain Colorado jurisdictions.

Statewide Colorado Restrictions

Colorado law restricts the sale and transfer of firearms with magazines capable of holding more than 15 rounds. As a result, Arm Or Ally does not sell firearms that ship with magazines exceeding this capacity, and we do not sell or ship firearm magazines to Colorado as a matter of policy.

Denver County Restrictions

Denver County enforces local firearm regulations that go beyond statewide requirements. Due to these local rules and enforcement practices, Arm Or Ally does not sell or ship firearms or firearm parts into Denver County.

Boulder County and Vail Restrictions

Boulder County and the Town of Vail have enacted local firearm regulations that restrict certain firearm components. Due to these local requirements, Arm Or Ally does not sell or ship stripped lower receivers or complete lower receivers into Boulder County or Vail.

Is This a Political Decision?

No. This is a business and risk-management decision. Colorado’s mix of statewide firearm laws and varying local county regulations creates compliance complexity and legal risk that makes it impractical to ship certain products into specific areas.

Will Arm Or Ally Change Colorado Shipping Policies in the Future?

At this time, no. Until Colorado law and local regulations become more uniform, stable, and predictable, Arm Or Ally will continue to restrict the sale and shipment of firearms, magazines, and certain firearm components to Colorado and select local jurisdictions.
