My M5E1 upper is missing the barrel nut wrench

Your M5E1 Upper Receiver is not missing a wrench. No special barrel nut wrench is required or included with the Aero Precision M5E1 Upper Receiver.

What wrench does the M5E1 use?

The Aero Precision M5E1 Enhanced Upper Receiver is designed to work with a standard AR-15 armorer's wrench.

Because the handguard mounting system is integrated into the upper receiver itself, the M5E1 does not require a proprietary barrel nut wrench like some other handguard and receiver systems.

Why isn't a wrench included?

Aero Precision does not include a barrel nut wrench with the M5E1 Upper Receiver because a standard AR-15 armorer's wrench provides the necessary interface for installation and assembly.

This eliminates the need for a dedicated or proprietary tool and allows builders to use common AR platform armorer tools already found in many workbenches.

What if I'm assembling my first build?

If this is your first AR build and you do not already own an armorer's wrench, you will need to obtain one before completing barrel installation and assembly.

Using the proper tools helps ensure components are installed correctly and to the manufacturer's recommended specifications.

If you have questions about compatibility or assembly of your M5E1 Upper Receiver, please open a support ticket and our team will be happy to assist you.
